| SUMMER ‘SALUTE’ FOR CORINTHIA EMPLOYEES |

5th September 2007 – The Saluting Battery terrace at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta provided a spectacular setting for the Corinthia Activities & Sports Club’s end of season ‘Lejla Mediterranja’ dinner party for some 500 Corinthia employees, their partners and all Corinthia’s retired employees.
During a balmy evening and with a picturesque harbour setting, guests were able to enjoy a feast of traditional Mediterranean dishes to the accompaniment of maestro Vinny Vella’s band and the mellow voice of popular singer Debbie Scerri.
At the end of dinner, a comedy sketch by the inimitable comedy duo of Hector Bruno and Augusto Cardinale had everyone in fits of laughter with their humorous banter. This was followed by the drawing of numerous prizes donated by Air Malta, Lufhansa, Kirton Travel, Hotel Line and Go Mobile. A small surprise awaited guests at the end of the enjoyable evening as they were each presented with a decorated bottle of Maltese olive oil in line with the evening’s Mediterranean theme.
The Corinthia Activities & Sports Club was set up some 30 years ago and has since grown from strength to strength, organising numerous sporting and cultural activities throughout the year, including sports competitions in various disciplines, cultural and historical tours and seasonal mega-parties. The Club also organises long service and employee of the year award presentations in Malta and in the eight other countries Corinthia operates in. It also administers the Group’s CorinthiaPlus staff discount scheme. |
